Aftermath

Slowly getting started on the new Story/Book "The Knife and the Gun" Need a fast start. Initial equipping and start. Discussions with father. Making it logical. Then trip to Mississippi in one paragraph. Maps and changing plans, AAA. Main part must be S Calif and west to Mojave. Barn work to protect roof edge and then cut weeds tomorrow. This storm was just a warning. Maybe even some mowing? Danged Ladder is heavy and overly large for what I am doing.

Storm

Oley maintained power throughout the storm. Truck cap did not leak. Hope to contact about publishing. Decided to use Laird 'O the Prairie my longest book to date. Started on bool nine "The Knife and the Gun" Story or book I don't know yet. We'll see.

Hurricane

Reckon hurricane will come whether (weather) we want it or not. Question is not wind strength, but water volume and the Penn St bridge with its crack !

This week and next are to be a basically no writing week. House cleanup particularly the sun porch for writing and watching the raccoons. Got a lot of yard work done last 3 days. Must put assorted and sundry equip. away before the hurricane. It might make it as a yard yet. Got hunting license. Fortifying my knees with daily drink of white grape juice and Pecto. Strange, but it works. not permanent arthritis cure, but as long as you use it.... Grange auction at Leesport on Saturday.Expect to be there with my lady, Mitzi !

Finished my first eastern The story is told. Not satisified with ending. good if I want to do sequel. Don't plan to so, must change it.

Never Happen again

This Morning at 5AM Peter Peacock took the "Dawn Flight" Woke me at hisusual time by landing on the porch roof and died. On schedule to the end. I know when he gets to heaven he will wake St Peter so he can get to the gate and do his duty! Farewell good and faithful friend. I will miss you as will many of my neighbors.
Been working on the rewriting of my book. Added a baby wolf named, "Puck". Enjoyable addition. Hope to have book #8 done on Sunday. It to is gaining "Weight" as I rewrite. Working on finding cover pictures. I have been blessed in by search. My brother will pose for "The Laird of the Prairie" In his garb and my weapons. End of month should be able to Photo biplane in flight "Davey and Georgie". Hunting house to look like "Rohrer Homestead". Need old hotel style entrance for the Cowboy and the Desk Clerk. Working on other Ideas, too.

Finished Book 8 , now to rewrite it then hand it to my two editors. Heading to N. Lebanon County to see if Great Uncle Johns house still exists at the mouth of the valley.t was almost the same as the homestead at Green Point. with the 2 sidw wrap around Porch. Plan to use it for a partial book cover. Finally made my decision what book to publish first. Will be Laird 'o the Prairie. My first book. I don't to put out a lame dog first that cain't run. Could ruin interest in future ones.

found 11th grade firswr reader.

Trying to make a coherent ending for the book, "Escape...I amde notes again.Peter has been resting on roof at night. Wonder what disturbs him on the ground. Printed copy of Youth and Uncivil Wat for an 11th grade girl to get opinion as to whether Its flies. 1st bad book in a trilogy can ruin the whole thing. We'll see.

Faire washed out

Had plans to go to the second day of the Pa.Renn Faire. Because of rain didn't go Instead Mitzi and I went to the Sigal Museum (Native American) in Easton. Special talks about Lenni Lenape and Mary Todd Lincoln. Impressed by the museum. Came home and got back to writing. The Iquest is finished and tomorrow Judge Wiswesser announces his findings. Tim usrd the truth touch on Sister Martha with some unexpected results. Making progress. Will print first two journals (Book1) of the Josiah Rohrer Chronicles. Have a college student who likes to read. Will give it to her at the Temple next time I go. Tomorrow morning walk if not raining and clean hallway upstairs, then write. Closing in.

Gunshow and book

Mediocre gun show at Leesport. Bought one new gun for Mitzi to use on our honeymoon. Should be in her lack of recoil range . It is a revolving 410 shot gun called the Circuit Judge. Shot it and am impressed. Wish it were made in ti country not Brazil. Can use 3 chambers for snake shot and 2 for buckshot. Expect to change the buckshot by cutting the balls by cutting balls in halvesor quarters so they tumble even at close range. The court case is dragging on. I'd like to finish this book. Tim will be trying his mental powers on Sister Martha. She must tell the truth.

Didn't make as much progress writing today as I had hoped 0nly 1,500 words some how the court room scene bogged down. Will try tomorrow after the gun show. Hada good conversation with creatspace on publishing. Learned fair amount. Hope to finish my eastern this next week. Reafong fair week and Mitzi will go to the Pa Renn Faire on Sunday, Weather permitting. Hope it isn't too hot.

Just had a good bowl of stewed clamatoes. Had planned on tomato crab soup but had no crab. I actually was tired of ham and cheese sandwiches. Thousand words by noon. 12:45 going for the next thousand. The court case is fun, no shoot 'em ups, but Clarence's shine is judged to be superior by Judge Wiswesser Next comes Calli and why she is there.

Almost bed time. finished 50,000 words Fourth of July celebration and now in the court case. Surprises

Much to do. House organizing so house can be ready for Mitzi. Should get some lawn mowing in. Things get left behind when one is compulsive about writing. Goal is finish Escape from the Orphanage by end of the month with my personal editing done. Hadn't planned violence on the train, but man got on with knife at coal/water stop. Should be a smooth ride to Phila unless a character demands more violence. I never know. Breakfast and walk for me.

Busy Day Today

Peter did not meet me this morning. Walked around Leesport Market and Auction talking to friends for two and a half hours.. More of a push to get things published. Just don't know about that. Called Enck's gun Barn and my rifle was repaired. It was a new one. Cost some change but should be worth it. Will probably shoot it after my morning walk. Sat down and got 1500 words done before bed. Got more done then I expected. Cleaning woman for a four hour stint tomorrow.

Another 2,000 words

Reached my goal of 2000+ words. No goal tomorrow as it is Leesport day. My walking and talking exercise will be to my friends. As usual I will walk and poke around chatting with former students and other friends. Should get some good mileage in. Will write tomorrow, but I don't know how much. I don't know if I will make my 60,000 words, only at 47,000 and don't know if Philadelphia and the trial will support 60,000. Well all we can do is tell the story as best we can and when the story is done, It is done. There is always an increase when I rewrite it, but I don't know how much. I hope as I get to be a better writer I get the descriptions in at at the right places first try. 10:20 time for shower and sleep, maybe new ideas.

Back from walk, little longer. Peter must have been worried. He was waiting on the corner of Stitzer and Herbine. Complained as I got closed. Wish I had a way to keep him on my shoulder, then he could watch what I'm doing. Would need extra shirts for when he wants to void.
After I write some, i may mow if it doesn't rain. Got more story ideas on the walk, maybe enough to finish the book. Us Senator Oberholtzer will be major. We go from strange to stranger.

I miss being in the mountains at my cabin, but I have so much to do to finish my book. I have reached 45,000 and hope to log in at least 2-3,000 tomorrow. Goal is 50,000by weeks end. Working some more humor in it. Lucas Cadawallader has just arrested 7 people for aid and abetting. This includes one six month old. He must also take the town sheriff and minister back to Philadelphia. The whole town might beg to go, they have never been to Philadelphia. Lucas has a mess. This part is getting to be fun. He doesn't know what sheriff Moser knows. Lucas will be lucky if ha doesn't have a heart attack.

Morning walks begin

Started early and began program of walking. Decided not to be too rough on myself . Took the level route down Stitzer Rd to Water st and back. Temp 76 degrees. Slight breeze, blue jays and cardinals. Home again to sort laundry. For my writing mornings are not as productive as afternoons and evenings.

Tough Day still learning about self

Think I'll sign out for the night. Learned that I am more productive at night than in the day. Expect to start daily walks in the morning and get my ideas together for the next part of the "Escape..." Closing in on the return to West Virginia and a wedding of two of the characters by an Old (young) friend before some go to Philadelphia.

Only

Only got 500 w0rds done. Needed a realistic fight. Had to see me going through the moves to make it real . Yes the moves could be done even by a little old man. Will try for 2,500 words tomorrow as well as shooting with my six guns. I'm not fast but I can hit.

Back trying to blog again. The last two attempts were fruitless so Dirk switched me to Firefox. When my temper for wasted time and effort cools off I will try again tomorrow then I will tell you which stories are completed and how to get them from me free!
